Pose of the Month
Pigeon (Eka Pada Rajakapotasana)
This pose is a deep hip opener where one leg is extended back and ideally the other leg is bent in front with the shin parallel to the mat.
Add on bending the back knee then reach the same hand back to meet the foot while scissoring the legs and balancing, and the other arm can lift to engage the core further.
Benefits include increased flexibility in the hips, relief of lower back pain, and the release of tension and stress stored in the body.
