We offer a large variety of classes in order to provide our members with a full range of options that meet their interests and fitness goals. The following list of classes is presented in alphabetical order; you can also access these class descriptions by clicking “view details” on our online schedule. Information on degree of difficulty and recommended experience levels is listed at the end of each class description.

Vinysas Classes

These classes offer a dynamic and fluid practice, linking breath with movement to create a seamless flow. Anytime you see “Flow” in a class title, it indicates a vinyasa-style practice. These are the various Vinyasa style classes you will see at Body Balance Studio.

Hot Vinyasa

A vigorous and energizing vinyasa flow practiced in a heated room at 95°F and 40% humidity. The warmth allows for deeper stretches, increased circulation, and detoxification through sweat. This practice builds strength, flexibility, and endurance while synchronizing breath with movement. Prior yoga experience is recommended but not required.

Vinyasa Multi-Level Flow

An adaptable vinyasa class designed for practitioners of all levels. Expect sun salutations, standing and balancing postures, core work, and seated postures. While modifications will be provided, some familiarity with basic yoga may be helpful. The class moves at a steady yet mindful pace, with a room temperature of 78-80°F and 35% humidity.

Flow & Restore

A fusion class that combines the benefits of vinyasa and restorative yoga. The first half of the class is an all-levels vinyasa flow, connecting breath with movement to warm the body, release tension, and enhance flexibility. The second half transitions to a restorative practice using props for deep relaxation, stress relief, and inner reflection.

This balanced approach offers both active and passive elements, making it an excellent choice for those seeking a well-rounded practice. Some prior yoga experience is recommended. Room temperature 75-78 degrees and 20% humidity.

Hatha Flow

This class blends traditional hatha yoga postures with a vinyasa-style approach, incorporating mindful movement and breath awareness. This class emphasizes proper alignment, strength, and flexibility while maintaining a steady and intentional pace.

Suitable for all levels, Hatha Flow provides a foundation for building a deeper yoga practice, offering modifications and variations to meet individual needs. Expect a grounding yet invigorating experience that supports both physical and mental well-being. Room Temperature 75-78 degrees and 20% humidity. 

Slow Flow

A mindful, vinyasa-based practice that connects movement with breath at a slower pace, allowing for intentional transitions between postures. This class emphasizes building strength, flexibility, and awareness through thoughtful movement. This class is open to all levels, with modifications provided for individual needs. Slow Flow is perfect for those seeking a grounding yet challenging practice.  You will see several variations on this type of yoga class. Room temperature is 75 degrees and 20% humidity, however, other variations may have a different temperature Rx. 

Slow Flow for Strength is a challenging variation that you will see on the schedule that heats things up a bit with a room temperature of  80–82°F and 40% humidity offering a mix of flowing sequences, standing postures, and seated stretches to help balance strength and flexibility.

Hot Slow Flow variation is practiced in a room heated to 90–95°F and 40% humidity, enhancing flexibility and promoting detoxification while maintaining a mindful, steady pace.

Hot 26 Yoga

This classic Hatha style sequence is a steady-paced 26 traditional postures derived from the traditional Hot Yoga series. It is practiced in a heated room that helps to warm the muscles, soothe tendons and joints, and flush toxins from the body through heavy sweating. This practice is designed to improve balance, strength, and flexibility.

This class is open to all levels of experience, but first-timers may want to take it easy as you learn to acclimate to the rigor of exercising in a heated room. Room Temperature is 102-104 degrees and 45% humidity. Beginners are welcome.

Candlelight Hot 26 – This version is practiced in a tranquil candlelit setting, creating a soothing ambiance perfect for Hot 26.

Gentle Yoga

A Hatha style class that focuses on slow, steady movements and conscious breathing. Students will move through a series of standing and seated poses designed to align, strengthen, and release tension in the body. Perfect for all experience levels, this practice will leave you feeling peaceful, open, and relaxed.

Gentle Yoga with Sound Meditation is a variation you will see on the schedule, which includes a longer savasana accompanied by quartz crystal singing bowls and other instruments, inviting you to transition into a restful, contemplative state. This class is beginner-friendly and suitable for all levels. This is a non-heated class, 75 degrees and 20% humidity.

Restorative Yin

Restorative Yin Yoga is a slow, relaxing practice that combines restorative yoga postures with quiet Yin style poses for a deeply nourishing experience. The style of this class is influenced by Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and focuses on improving the flow of life force/prana/chi, and bringing the yin and yang energies into balance.

In this class, you will be guided into gentle seated or reclined postures using the support of bolsters, blankets, blocks, and pillows to enhance your comfort. Poses are held for 2-7 minutes and invite students to shift from an active, yang energy to a restful, contemplative state of being. Quartz Crystal Singing bowls and other instruments (chimes, hand pan drum, etc.) are played during savasana.  This class is open to all levels and is a non-heated class, 75 degrees and 20% humidity.

Specialty Classes

Yoga Sculpt

Combines traditional yoga poses with strength training, using light hand weights and invigorating short cardio bursts for a full-body workout. This energetic class is designed to build strength, increase endurance, and improve flexibility while boosting metabolism.

You’ll flow through dynamic yoga sequences, incorporating both toning exercises and quick cardio intervals to elevate your heart rate and engage every muscle. The result is a well-rounded, practice that leaves you feeling strong, energized, and balanced. Suitable for all levels, with modifications offered to meet individual needs. Expect a challenge that’s as fun as it is rewarding. Room Temperature 80-82 degrees and 40% humidity.

Power Flow

Power Flow is a stronger practice that encourages students to engage more fully in the body as a tool to get out of their head. It has a physical focus, working on stamina, strength, flexibility, and endurance. In classic Vinyasa Style, you will be encouraged to move the body in sync with the breath, focusing on creating fluid and smooth movements.

Students can expect advanced poses as seen in Ashtanga lineage, as well as classic vinyasa-style sequencing for a strong, balanced practice that will leave you feeling energized for your day. Yoga experience is strongly recommended, this is an intermediate-level class. Room Temperature 80-82 degrees and 45% humidity.

Somatic Yoga

Experience the transformative power of Somatic Release Yoga, a trauma-informed class that draws from the lineage of Hannah somatics to promote stress and tension reduction. This revolutionary method recognizes that stress is predominantly experienced, stored, and relived through the body, emphasizing the importance of healing at the somatic level.

This unique class combines breathing techniques, integrative somatic techniques from the lineage of Hannah somatics, yoga asanas, guided meditation, as well as restorative postures. You will also have the opportunity to safely discharge trapped energy and restore balance to your nervous system. By tapping into the body’s natural ability to heal you can improve resilience, reconnect with your body, and find balance within yourself. This is a non-heated class, 70-75 degrees and 20% humidity.

Sound Meditation

A sound experience that will leave you feeling uplifted, rejuvenated and enlivened with your natural essence. Align your mind, body, and spirit in this guided sound meditation. Be gently led into a meditative state, preparing you for a 60-minute immersion in the mesmerizing tones of Quartz Crystal Singing Bowls.

This is an opportunity to resonate with the ancient wisdom of sound as we explore the power of frequency and allow the crystal-clear vibrations to harmonize your being and awaken your true essence. Experience the healing and rejuvenating effects of this sound journey, leaving you uplifted and enlivened. This is a non-heated class, 70-75 degrees and 20% humidity.

Stretch & Center

A calming, therapeutic practice designed to release the stresses of life through slow, nurturing movements. Expect seated, reclined, or prone postures, as well as gentle standing poses held for 5 to 6 breaths, giving you a full-body stretch while helping you feel centered and grounded. This practice is suitable for all levels, including beginners or those recovering from injury. This is a non-heated class. Two variations you will see on our schedule.

Candlelit Stretch & Center, in this version practice in a tranquil candlelit setting, creating a soothing ambiance perfect for stress relief and relaxation, and this is a non-heated class.   

Hot Stretch & Center is a hot and gentle practice in a heated room (90–95°F and 35% humidity), this variation combines the benefits of heat to warm muscles and increase flexibility with the same slow and therapeutic movements.
