We’ve got a lot of exciting things going on at Body Balance! With a wide variety of classes, special events and our dream team of teachers, we have something for everyone!

Spring Equinox 108 Sun Salutations

Sunday, March 20, 2022, 1pm – 3pm

Join Amanda Jackson for this special event that will incorporate the traditional yogi practice of moving through 108 sun salutations to celebrate the changing of the seasons.  

Amanda will offer gentle, modified versions of Sun Salutation A to all who attend. $35 per person.

Free Community Karma Class

Friday, April 1, 6pm – 7pm

This slow flow class will be taught by Lyzi Southard whom many of you will recognize from being in some of your classes at Body Balance and helping out at the front desk. 

Lyzi is returning to Body Balance and her hometown of Yorktown after being gone for several years.  Lyzi is an experienced yogi having taught and studied all over the world! She has taught everything from Ashtanga to Yin Yoga and has led workshops in alignment and Bhakti Yoga.  Her teaching style has a strong emphasis on the proper, safe alignment of the body while in asana and slow, intentional Vinyasa flows. 

This class will be accessible to all levels but some experience is preferred. Lyzi is donating her time and the studio is opening our doors to the community for this free class. You may have also noticed some other new faces around the studio. We are super excited to add some experienced and locally loved yoga instructors to our team!  

In addition to our new instructors, we are thrilled to welcome Mary Robinson back to the studio.  And while some of our other favorite teachers can’t come back full-time, we will be featuring them as subs or “guest hosts” for some of our regular classes. Stay tuned for more information!

Candice Kehayes

Candice is a RYT-200 and is currently teaching a variety of classes at Body Balance including Vinyasa Flow, Hot Yoga and Pilates Barre. She believes our words are medicine for our hearts and she loves sharing poems and mantras that heal, nurture and motivate the mind.

Candice’s desire for connection and deeper meaning brought her to learn and teach many different forms of movement and yoga.

Felix Vlad 

Born and raised in Transylvania, Romania, Felix moved to the United States in 1994 and 2 years later he made his home in Williamsburg.

His lifelong passions included karate and fitness; Felix began practicing karate at age 14 and is still involved in teaching at his Karate School. Felix also spends time at the James City County Recreation Center where he teaches Zumba, aqua, strength training, and various other fitness classes.

Felix is teaching Hot Yoga at Body Balance on Wednesday mornings at 8am.

Mary Robinson

Mary is a RYT-200 and has been teaching yoga for 8 years. She lives in Williamsburg with her husband, 3 young children, and her dog. 

Mary considers herself a lifelong student of yoga. She is always learning, and is eternally grateful for countless life lessons found on her mat. 

She aims to infuse her classes with the same joy, compassion, and healing that she has found through yoga.

Mary is excited to return to Body Balance and is looking forward to seeing you for Sunday Morning Flow at 10am.

Beyond Hot Yoga

With things starting to heat up outside, you may be looking for some yoga classes that are actually not “Hot”. If so, we’ve got you covered with our wide selection of classes!


Body Balance specializes in many different kinds of yoga and our classes are designed to meet you where you are on your journey! 

Here are a few of our favorite non-heated classes that are designed to be relaxing and require no previous yoga or exercise experience:


Gentle Restorative Yoga
This soothing practice is designed to restore the nervous system and help release deeply held tensions from the body and mind.


Candlelight Restorative
This practice is set in a soothing candlelight environment with soft music. Candlelight Restorative focuses on poses that promote relaxation and restoration to help relieve the effects of chronic stress.


Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is a quiet contemplative practice that works deeply into our body with passive longer-held floor poses targeting hips, pelvis, inner thighs and lower spine.


Gentle Flow Yoga
This practice is designed to release tension, connect with the breath, and help students gain strength and flexibility.
