This is a specific series of yoga postures taught in a particular order. This series will warm and stretch muscles and tendons. External heat and humidity upwards of 105 degrees Fahrenheit are used to create an optimal environment for these postures. The room is regulated through out the class to maintain a safe practice.
This is a flow practice that integrates breath and movement to create strength and flexibility. Emphasis will be placed on proper alignment and the connection among mind, body and spirit. Knowledge of basic yoga postures and sun salutations is helpful prior to entering this class. This practice will leave you feeling grounded energized.
Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active style of asana practice. Suitable for all levels of students the poses are held for 3-5 minutes making this a more mindful practice. This practice has a Meditative component to it. Meditation is a journey into the process of centering the mind and calming the body, mind, and spirit.

This practice is designed to restore the nervous system and help release deeply held tensions from the body and mind. We use props to support the postures while gently stretching and strengthening the body. This class is appropriate for students of all levels.
