New Winter Class Schedule

While things outside are cooling down, we are warming it up in the studio! For those who don’t like it too hot, we have added some “warm” classes that are moderately heated to 80 – 85 degrees. The temperature is less extreme than Hot Yoga but still has many of the same benefits and feels comfortably warm but not overwhelming!

Starting Monday, January 3rd we have a new class line-up. We are keeping all the old favorites but spicing it up with some new classes and time changes to ramp things up!

Spotlight on Yin Yoga

If you are tired and craving energy or you’re over-stimulated and have too much energy, this is a great class to find balance for both body and mind.

Yin Yoga is a quiet contemplative practice that works deeply into our body with passive longer-held floor poses targeting hips, pelvis, inner thighs and lower spine.

This practice targets the deepest connective tissues of our body, ligaments, joints, bones and fascia. As you are guided, each pose is held between 3 to 5 minutes using the support of props, soft music and low lights.

Energetically, Yin yoga improves the energy flow as we breathe deeply bringing more life force/Chi into the body. This class is open to all levels.

Invest in your practice with private sessions with Jessica Ruff, E-RYT 200, RYT 500, YACEP. One-on-one sessions are a great way to deepen your practice as they are tailored to meet your individual needs and goals.

Tai Chi/Qigong Sessions with Richard Tate*

Get personalized instruction from an experienced marital arts teacher! Richard is a certified instructor of Tai Chi and Qigong and has studied martial arts, Tai Chi, and Qigong for over 30 years. Richard is currently teaching Tai Chi/Qigong Gentle Flow at Body Balance.

Availability for private sessions includes Tuesdays 10am-12am

Private Group Events

Our small studio is a perfect venue for a bachelorette party, bridal shower, or other small group! If you are looking for something new for your office staff or a special group activity, we can put together a package of customized yoga in a beautiful and private setting!

Introducing New Massage Therapist

Please join us in welcoming Jim Smith to our line-up of Body Balance service providers! Jim joins Sue Walkley in providing massage services to our members.

Jim is a licensed massage therapist and a graduate of Hokulani Massage Academy. He specializes in a blended therapy style that includes Swedish, Therapeutic, Balinese & other techniques used in body work. Jim is also a personal trainer specializing in athletic style training & human movement.

Starting this week, Sue will be providing massage therapy on Fridays and Saturdays and Jim will providing massage therapy on Mondays. Jim books massage appointments for 90 minutes which includes 80 minutes of hands-on time. The cost of a massage session with Jim is $130 which includes gratuity.

Workshop: Connect to Core; Connect to Self

When a teacher says “engage your core,” are you left wondering, how do I do that?

Join us on Saturday, January 29th from 11am-1pm for this special workshop with Jessica Ruff.

Tap into your core center by learning how to engage your bandhas and the nuances of using your 360 core. Core engagement is more than abdominals, it’s also obliques, posterior core, pelvic floor, and the transverse abdominis.

Finding your center will help you integrate and engage more fully in any pose or transition on the yoga mat. Once you learn how to truly engage and tap into the powerhouse of your center, you’ll discover a new level of integration throughout your practice.

This workshop will begin with a core-focused vinyasa practice, followed by a guided meditation that will help connect us with the innermost self. We’ll wrap up with a discussion and exercise on connecting with our deepest selves and dharma (purpose). You’ll leave feeling connected to center, physically and energetically. $35/per person to attend.

Here are the standings of our leaders going into the final 30 days of the competition.

1st Place: Tammy D. takes back the lead with an amazing 44 classes!

2nd Place: Lisa N. is right on her heels with 43 classes!

3rd Place: Elaine M. is holding strong with 37 classes!

4th Place: Jackson H. making a strong showing with 35 classes!

5th Place: Mary R. moves up into the top 5 with 28 classes!
