Our Studio Vision
Body Balance is more than just a Yoga Studio. While we offer a variety of Yoga classes for our members to begin or deepen their practice, we understand that we have an opportunity to create an oasis. In the studio, we combine yoga with all-around wellness opportunities and a therapeutic healing focus to do just that. “I wanted to create a place where people can feel comfortable and can escape from their day-to-day,” Florina Tusa-Wyss, Owner, shares. “We’ve created this little island from the life we have.”
Florina has been the owner of our studio since 2014 and utilizes her extensive background in physical therapy, teaching, and studio management to create this oasis. Her goal is to provide a safe atmosphere for each individual who walks through the door, knowing that they are taking care of themselves. Whether you’re new to yoga or a seasoned yogi, you are welcome here. Florina’s mission is to focus on wellness as a guiding principle, which she believes is more important than just being physically healthy.
“Wellness is a balance of how you deal with life,” Florina says. “Everyone needs something different.” Since there is more than just one solution to wellness, we’re here to help you find what works for you. From rehabilitation services to therapeutic concepts like craniosacral therapy and yoga therapy, there’s something for every need.
Our vision at Body Balance is to incorporate the tenants of yoga into everything we do. From wellness to yoga therapy and physical therapy, our studio vision is to foster a studio environment unlike any other in the area. Florina found her passion for therapy and wellness from her own personal experience with physical therapy. “I found that so many were treating the symptoms and not the cause,” Florina says. “I really think that there is so much that varies by individual – you may need a different experience or to go in a different direction than someone else.”
Our studio is different because of our focus on wellness as a whole and because of our instructors and staff. We choose each instructor wisely, ensuring that we have the best for you to practice with. Our instructors are able to offer you modifications based on what your body needs as well as suggest ways to continue to deepen your practice. If someone is not yet ready for a group class, or wants to improve upon their yoga skills, we offer private lessons for one-on-one instruction.
Florina’s vision for Body Balance is to build relationships and help clients in their personal pursuit of wellness. “I know that I have that in myself and I want to share it with others,” Florina shares. It’s this mindset that has helped us create an environment that is welcoming, encouraging, and conducive for strides in your wellness journey. Whether you’re stopping in for yoga, come regularly for therapy, or are interested in learning more about our services, we’re glad you found us. “I want everyone to know that they can come and be as they are,” Florina says.
